Interpretar la ficha RUC sin confundir sus campos
- Confirma los 11 dígitos
- Compara el RUC y la razón social con la factura o el contrato. Un nombre comercial puede ser distinto del contribuyente. La coincidencia de nombres no basta para identificar a la contraparte.
- Estado y condición son distintos
- El estado del contribuyente y la condición del domicilio describen aspectos diferentes. Conserva ambos valores tal como aparecen en SUNAT y consulta su explicación oficial. No los reduzcas a una etiqueta de empresa segura o fraudulenta.
- Aclara diferencias
- Si cambia la actividad declarada o no coincide el domicilio, pide aclaración y comprueba las fechas. Una diferencia de actividad no demuestra por sí sola falta de autorización para prestar un servicio; las licencias se comprueban por separado.
- Reconoce el alcance
- La ficha RUC es información tributaria, no un historial completo de directores o propietarios. Guarda la fuente y la fecha de consulta. Un fallo de acceso o un campo ausente no demuestra que la empresa no exista.

Sobre el Registro Único de Contribuyentes
El RUC (Registro Único de Contribuyentes) es el registro oficial de personas y empresas ante la SUNAT. El número tiene 11 dígitos y empieza por 20 en el caso de las personas jurídicas y por 10 en el de las personas naturales con negocio. La ficha RUC muestra la razón social, el tipo de contribuyente, el estado (activo, baja de oficio, suspensión temporal), la condición del domicilio (habido o no habido), la actividad económica CIIU y la fecha de inscripción.

Tax Registry Search (SUNAT)
Access the 'Consulta RUC' portal. You can search by RUC number (11 digits), Document Number (DNI), or Name/Business Name ('Nombre o Razón Social'). This provides tax status, address, and legal representative names.

Corporate Filing Search (SUNARP)
Use the 'Síguelo' or 'Directorio de Personas Jurídicas' on the SUNARP website. Search by the entity's name or the Electronic Entry ('Partida Registral') to access the actual incorporation documents and board resolutions.

Request a 'Certificado de Vigencia de Poder' via SUNARP's SPRL (Servicio de Publicidad Registral en Línea) to confirm who is currently authorized to sign on behalf of the company.

Errores frecuentes
✗ Assuming 'Nombre Comercial' is the same as 'Razón Social'.
✓ Search by the legal name (Razón Social) found on tax documents, as trade names may not be registered in the tax database.
✗ Ignoring the 'Condición del Contribuyente' status.
✓ Always check if the status is 'Habido'; a status of 'No Habido' refers to an unverified fiscal address, which prevents the entity from issuing valid tax receipts.

¿Qué significa 'no habido'?▾
Significa que SUNAT no pudo ubicar al contribuyente en el domicilio fiscal declarado. Las facturas de un proveedor no habido pueden generar reparos en el crédito fiscal.
¿Qué diferencia hay entre RUC 10 y RUC 20?▾
El RUC que empieza por 10 pertenece a una persona natural con negocio; el que empieza por 20, a una persona jurídica como una S.A.C., S.A. o S.R.L.
¿Puedo ver a los representantes legales?▾
La ficha RUC pública incluye datos del contribuyente; la información societaria completa, como los poderes vigentes, se consulta en SUNARP.
