Luxembourg: choosing and checking the right record

Choose the correct source

Use Luxembourg Business Registers for the RCS entity and available filed documents. Keep an RCS check separate from any beneficial-ownership inquiry, which can have different access conditions.

Confirm the entity

Match the full RCS identifier, including its section letter, with the legal name and legal form. Similar names or group membership are not sufficient to select the contracting entity.

When the search returns nothing

Ask for the RCS number, search former names and distinguish a branch from its parent. An access restriction or missing document should be reported as unavailable, not as a confirmed absence of a company.

What the record cannot establish

RCS registration does not automatically provide unrestricted beneficial-ownership data. Preserve the dates and scope of documents; officer information does not by itself establish ultimate ownership.
